February is getting closer and closer and I am so excited. In case you didn't see my other post, that's when I'm getting my treadmill that I have been wanting for years. The plan is not to go in guns-a-blazing and wear myself out, but instead to hop on for a minute every half hour or so. That's... 20 minutes of running a day, roughly. That's huge! But I won't really notice it. I actually think it might be exhilarating. It would be just enough to get my heart rate up, then rest, then get it up, then rest. It wouldn't be too much, but 20 minutes a day is better than zero.
Then when I get used to that, I can try for two minutes every half hour, and so on to get myself used to the activity. I'm really not used to activity, I was never one for running around and such. But I've also always hated exercises on the floor like sit ups, push-ups, crunches, etc. It hurts and it's boring down there. So what to do... Well, exercise balls offer the perfect solution, don;t they? You can exercise off the floor and it's fun!
Recently I got the 55cm Exercise Ball by Live Infinitely. I just love Live Infinitely. Anyway, they have bigger sizes too, but I'm short, so I went with 55. It's the perfect size for me. It came with a pump, 2 plugs, and a plug remover, as well as access to an online exercise guide. I had to fill the ball about 80% of the way and leave it for a day, then fill the rest after that. It was really easy to do, it just took a while. Streaker was the main pumper because she wanted to for some weird reason.
The plug is really reliable. It's long and fits in snuggly, I've had no leaking problems. Despite me very clearly instructing my kids a million times to stay away from it, they've abused this ball for a couple weeks now. It still looks and feels brand new, no worse for the wear.
It's made of PVC material that feels kind of like if foam and silicone had a baby. It's soft and squishy, but grippy too. I love the material. It also means that you can lean against it easier without slipping.
It's been tested to hold up to 2200 lbs and is burst proof. It definitely holds me with no problem. I would recommend this ball to anyone looking to start getting fit.
