February is here, folks! And if I hadn't lost the W2's, I might be well on my way to a new treadmill by now. Sadly, I need to fins them before I can get the treadmill and run my way to health. But there's no reason that I can't get started on fitness in the meantime. Especially now that I have this cool new suspension strap set from Fitness Answered Training Products.
I do have a wall mount for suspension straps, but what I love about this set is that you don't need one. It makes it so that you can practice anywhere that has a door. As long as you can shut that door, you can work out.
That's because it comes with a neat device that keeps the strap from slipping through the crack of the door jam. you just place the straps over the door while it's attached to that device and it will stay in place.
Tall door? Wall mount secured high up on the wall or even on the ceiling? No problem! It also comes with an extender for when you need some extra length. Not to mention, the straps themselves are adjustable.
The handles are two part handles with both a harder rubber handle for the hands and a lower soft loop for the feet. These straps let you do so much, you can exercise basically any part of your body with your choice of easy or hard work outs.
I am definitely recommending these straps, I love them. To learn more, visit F.A.T. on Amazon.

A couple weeks ago, my dog popped my exercise ball. He didn't mean to I suppose, but it was a pretty big bummer. I'd barely had a chance to use it. I had so many plans for it. I was going to go through the whole Stack 52 deck with it. I even matched all my exercise equipment to that ball. But alas, it wasn't meant to be.
Not with that one anyway. I did get a new ball. It's a 65cm Anti-Burst Yoga Ball from Champion's Vitality. It's a beautiful blue ball and it comes with a measuring tape to make sure you fill it to just the right size, as well as the pump and an extra plug.
It was really easy to blow up. You just take it out and unfold it, then let it sit for a couple hours at room temperature. Then you inflate to 75cm, then deflate to 65. To be honest, it is a bit big for my body, 55 is probably ideal for me, but there was only the one size option. Still, I can make it work.
The material is a nice quality material that seems like it would definitely be resistant to bursting, though not puncturing, so I will definitely need to keep this one away from the dog. It is nice and firm when you sit on it, but still has give.
The outside of the ball is lined with ridges to prevent slipping and to help you grip the ball. I think that's a nice feature, especially for exercises that involve holding the ball with your feet. I definitely like this ball and I would recommend it.

February is getting closer and closer and I am so excited. In case you didn't see my other post, that's when I'm getting my treadmill that I have been wanting for years. The plan is not to go in guns-a-blazing and wear myself out, but instead to hop on for a minute every half hour or so. That's... 20 minutes of running a day, roughly. That's huge! But I won't really notice it. I actually think it might be exhilarating. It would be just enough to get my heart rate up, then rest, then get it up, then rest. It wouldn't be too much, but 20 minutes a day is better than zero.

Then when I get used to that, I can try for two minutes every half hour, and so on to get myself used to the activity. I'm really not used to activity, I was never one for running around and such. But I've also always hated exercises on the floor like sit ups, push-ups, crunches, etc. It hurts and it's boring down there. So what to do... Well, exercise balls offer the perfect solution, don;t they? You can exercise off the floor and it's fun!
Recently I got the 55cm Exercise Ball by Live Infinitely. I just love Live Infinitely. Anyway, they have bigger sizes too, but I'm short, so I went with 55. It's the perfect size for me. It came with a pump, 2 plugs, and a plug remover, as well as access to an online exercise guide. I had to fill the ball about 80% of the way and leave it for a day, then fill the rest after that. It was really easy to do, it just took a while. Streaker was the main pumper because she wanted to for some weird reason.
The plug is really reliable. It's long and fits in snuggly, I've had no leaking problems. Despite me very clearly instructing my kids a million times to stay away from it, they've abused this ball for a couple weeks now. It still looks and feels brand new, no worse for the wear.
It's made of PVC material that feels kind of like if foam and silicone had a baby. It's soft and squishy, but grippy too. I love the material. It also means that you can lean against it easier without slipping.
It's been tested to hold up to 2200 lbs and is burst proof. It definitely holds me with no problem. I would recommend this ball to anyone looking to start getting fit. To learn more, check out Live Infinitely on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Amazon or on their website at LiveInfinitely.com.

One thing that makes me really happy as a mom is when my kids get excited about something that's good for them. It's even better when it's something I've introduced to them. It makes me feel like maybe I'm not failing as bad as I think I am. Like when Streaker got super excited about that pedometer I showed her and walked almost constantly until she lost it just so she could keep track of her steps. I'm totally getting another one for her. Or like when Punky and pretty much everyone else got super amped about fruit infused waters. The idea of fruit flavoring their waters was just too much awesome for them to handle.
And guess what's on every kid's wish list this year? Yup! Fruit infusion water bottles. And I am okay with that. So far I have two of the five I need. I might have to settle last minute and grab a few from Walmart last minute. They aren't as common as they should be. But I do have a few. One that I have for myself is this Fruit Infuser Water Bottle Bundle by MEK.
The bottle is made of Titan Plastic, so it doesn't shatter, only cracks if broken. It's a really nice feature. I have many bottles made of this plastic and only one has ever broken after being dropped many times. It's a 24 ounce bottle with a leak-proof cover. It's leak-proof because of the cool rubber button disc in the cover, it creates a suction seal inside the cover.
The inside has a fruit basket that sets inside the top of the bottle. The basket has a cover to it that screws on after filling the basket with whatever yummy fruit you feel like. It holds quite a bit of fruit and will definitely flavor your water.
The kit comes with a Neoprene sleeve for carrying the bottle. The sleeve has an adjustable shoulder strap. It also comes with a carabiner to clip the bottle to your belt if you wish. One other thing it comes with is a list of recipes and ingredients that you can try. It's laminated in a thick lamination sheet, I'm guessing 5mm.
This would make a great gift for someone who likes to live a healthy lifestyle. I definitely recommend it! To learn more, check out MEK (Made Easy Kit) on Amazon.

I am so excited for February to get here. It's that time of year when I can splurge a little on things I wouldn't normally get. The last few years I have been saying "I am gonna get a treadmill no matter what". Last year I even told myself that I was so out of shape that if I didn't get a treadmill last year, I'd never get myself back on track. Well, I'm about the same size as last year, so that's good news. And this year I AM getting that treadmill. I will be working on myself all year long, it's time to turn over a new leaf.

One of those things that I'm going to do to help myself get more fit and lean is Yoga. I've started to try it before and I could definitely feel myself being more energized and I could feel the burn on some of those poses for sure. I stopped because I just didn't have the equipment. I know that part of the lure of yoga is that you can do it anywhere and anytime, but I just needed the fun stuff to keep me going. Something kind of like my new yoga mat towel from Veda Yoga.

Besides looking awesome, it fits perfectly on a mat. It's 24x72". It' meant to be used, bead side down. The beads are made of silicone and make the towel non-slip so it doesn't slide around on the mat. The beads are the same beautiful, deep purple as the material. The beads can be felt a little when you're using it, but it's not uncomfortable, per se... it's just felt. It actually almost feels like a massage type feeling. I can see how someone might find it a bit less than comfortable though, mostly if it;s being used alone on a hard floor.
The towel isn't thick, it's more like a heavy material. But the material it's made from is very absorbent and will quickly dry as well. So it will keep your mat from getting sweaty, but not feel sweaty itself. It's a pretty neat fabric.
Veda Yoga also has a blue mat, as well as a bundle deal on Amazon. With the bundle deal you get two towels, one for full price and the other for less than half that. It's a pretty good deal. For anyone who loves yoga or has a friend who does, I think they'd really enjoy this. Do you do yoga?
