Remember how last week I was telling you about that art installation I went to? I was telling you how we had to clip feathers and tie them to the dream catcher and how I thought about the birds the feathers came from. It would be so nice to be so free, to just lift yourself away from your troubles and go. And I showed you my awesome new necklace from Spunky Soul with the three different feathers on it. This one:
Well guess what I got to go with it! Earrings!!! Yup, feather earrings from Spunky Soul in antique gold brass. Now, you should know ahead of time that my kids and I have seriously sensitive ears. I usually wear earrings for a few hours, take them out because my ears hurt, then have to re-pierce my right ear the next time I put in earrings. Yeah... re-pierce... every time. They never heal up properly because the earrings I wear always hurt and cause my ears to become raw. Although, my wedding earrings, I wore those for like a month, they rocked. But the pair I wore after made my ears sore and my ear healed back up again. The drawbacks of piercing one's own ears with a carpet needle, I suppose.
But I digress, 'twas a long time ago. You'll be happy to know that these earrings did not bother my ears AT ALL. I wore them for several days. I didn't have the feeling that I couldn't hug my kids or lay down on my pillow. Those are legitimate fears when wearing most earrings. The fear of my ears being touched or that my earring will get snagged and my ears tugged on, all the pain. Scary stuff. No fears with these ones because there was no pain whatsoever and they are super light,s o they don't pull.
The earrings match the necklace perfectly. I got the gold-plaited base earrings and they match the same feather from the necklace. I don't like to venture too far into fashion territory, because I'm not super awesome at it. So having earrings that I know match exactly makes me feel good.
The earrings have a french style hook and rubber backings. As you can see, the back of the earring is less textured than the front. It's made nickel and lead free and comes in a pretty nice drawstring satchel, perfect for immediate gift giving. And these would make a pretty excellent gift, even for those with super sensitive ears. Do you have pierced ears?
