Suspension Strap Set #Review #FitnessAnswered

February is here, folks!  And if I hadn't lost the W2's, I might be well on my way to a new treadmill by now.  Sadly, I need to fins them before I can get the treadmill and run my way to health.  But there's no reason that I can't get started on fitness in the meantime.  Especially now that I have this cool new suspension strap set from Fitness Answered Training Products.
I do have a wall mount for suspension straps, but what I love about this set is that you don't need one.  It makes it so that you can practice anywhere that has a door.  As long as you can shut that door, you can work out.
That's because it comes with a neat device that keeps the strap from slipping through the crack of the door jam.  you just place the straps over the door while it's attached to that device and it will stay in place.

Tall door?  Wall mount secured high up on the wall or even on the ceiling?  No problem!  It also comes with an extender for when you need some extra length.  Not to mention, the straps themselves are adjustable.

The handles are two part handles with both a harder rubber handle for the hands and a lower soft loop for the feet.  These straps let you do so much, you can exercise basically any part of your body with your choice of easy or hard work outs.

I am definitely recommending these straps, I love them.  To learn more, visit F.A.T. on Amazon.

#ChampionsVitality 65 cm Anti-Burst Yoga Ball #Review

A couple weeks ago, my dog popped my exercise ball.  He didn't mean to I suppose, but it was a pretty big bummer.  I'd barely had a chance to use it.  I had so many plans for it.  I was going to go through the whole Stack 52 deck with it.  I even matched all my exercise equipment to that ball.  But alas, it wasn't meant to be.
Not with that one anyway.  I did get a new ball.  It's a 65cm Anti-Burst Yoga Ball from Champion's Vitality.  It's a beautiful blue ball and it comes with a measuring tape to make sure you fill it to just the right size, as well as the pump and an extra plug.
It was really easy to blow up.  You just take it out and unfold it, then let it sit for a couple hours at room temperature.  Then you inflate to 75cm, then deflate to 65.  To be honest, it is a bit big for my body, 55 is probably ideal for me, but there was only the one size option. Still, I can make it work.
The material is a nice quality material that seems like it would definitely be resistant to bursting, though not puncturing, so I will definitely need to keep this one away from the dog.  It is nice and firm when you sit on it, but still has give.
The outside of the ball is lined with ridges to prevent slipping and to help you grip the ball.  I think that's a nice feature, especially for exercises that involve holding the ball with your feet.  I definitely like this ball and I would recommend it.

#LiveInfinitely Exercise Ball #Review

February is getting closer and closer and I am so excited.  In case you didn't see my other post, that's when I'm getting my treadmill that I have been wanting for years.  The plan is not to go in guns-a-blazing and wear myself out, but instead to hop on for a minute every half hour or so.  That's... 20 minutes of running a day, roughly.  That's huge!  But I won't really notice it.  I actually think it might be exhilarating.  It would be just enough to get my heart rate up, then rest, then get it up, then rest.  It wouldn't be too much, but 20 minutes a day is better than zero.
Then when I get used to that, I can try for two minutes every half hour, and so on to get myself used to the activity.  I'm really not used to activity, I was never one for running around and such.  But I've also always hated exercises on the floor like sit ups, push-ups, crunches, etc.  It hurts and it's boring down there.  So what to do... Well, exercise balls offer the perfect solution, don;t they?  You can exercise off the floor and it's fun!
Recently I got the 55cm Exercise Ball by Live Infinitely.  I just love Live Infinitely.  Anyway, they have bigger sizes too, but I'm short, so I went with 55.  It's the perfect size for me.  It came with a pump, 2 plugs, and a plug remover, as well as access to an online exercise guide.  I had to fill the ball about 80% of the way and leave it for a day, then fill the rest after that.  It was really easy to do, it just took a while.  Streaker was the main pumper because she wanted to for some weird reason.
The plug is really reliable.  It's long and fits in snuggly, I've had no leaking problems.  Despite me very clearly instructing my kids  a million times to stay away from it, they've abused this ball for a couple weeks now.  It still looks and feels brand new, no worse for the wear.
It's made of PVC material that feels kind of like if foam and silicone had a baby.  It's soft and squishy, but grippy too.  I love the material.  It also means that you can lean against it easier without slipping.

It's been tested to hold up to 2200 lbs and is burst proof.  It definitely holds me with no problem.  I would recommend this ball to anyone looking to start getting fit.

Fruit Infuser Water Bottle and Neoprene Sleeve with Shoulder Straps #Review #InfuserBottleMEK

One thing that makes me really happy as a mom is when my kids get excited about something that's good for them.  It's even better when it's something I've introduced to them.  It makes me feel like maybe I'm not failing as bad as I think I am.  Like when Streaker got super excited about that pedometer I showed her and walked almost constantly until she lost it just so she could keep track of her steps.  I'm totally getting another one for her.  Or like when Punky and pretty much everyone else got super amped about fruit infused waters.  The idea of fruit flavoring their waters was just too much awesome for them to handle.

And guess what's on every kid's wish list this year?  Yup!  Fruit infusion water bottles.  And I am okay with that.  So far I have two of the five I need.  I might have to settle last minute and grab a few from Walmart last minute.  They aren't as common as they should be.  But I do have a few.  One that I have for myself is this Fruit Infuser Water Bottle Bundle by MEK.
The bottle is made of Titan Plastic, so it doesn't shatter, only cracks if broken.  It's a really nice feature.  I have many bottles made of this plastic and only one has ever broken after being dropped many times.  It's a 24 ounce bottle with a leak-proof cover.  It's leak-proof because of the cool rubber button disc in the cover, it creates a suction seal inside the cover.

The inside has a fruit basket that sets inside the top of the bottle.  The basket has a cover to it that screws on after filling the basket with whatever yummy fruit you feel like.  It holds quite a bit of fruit and will definitely flavor your water.
The kit comes with a Neoprene sleeve for carrying the bottle.  The sleeve has an adjustable shoulder strap.  It also comes with a carabiner to clip the bottle to your belt if you wish.  One other thing it comes with is a list of recipes and ingredients that you can try.  It's laminated in a thick lamination sheet, I'm guessing 5mm.
This would make a great gift for someone who likes to live a healthy lifestyle.  I definitely recommend it!  To learn more, check out MEK (Made Easy Kit) on Amazon.

#TrimEvolution Fruit Infuser Water Bottle #Review

So, I learned something this week.  Did you know that if you don't drink water, your body can't metabolize fat?  So regardless of the fact that I don't eat very often, and not at all some days... my body can't metabolize the fat I have from what I DO eat because I NEVER drink water!  Some days, I eat nothing.  Some days, I have a McDonald's meal and that's it.  Some days, I snack some for the morning and mid-day and binge a little for supper.  But usually, I eat little for most of the day.  Yet I have been gaining and gaining over the years.  Drinking coffee upped my weight gain drastically.  And that makes sense, because coffee dehydrates you!  And with less water, the liver is forced to stop burning fat so that it can help the worn out kidneys to better filter toxins.  How did I not know this?
Oh wait, that's right, I was never taught it.  Every kid is told that water and milk are important, as was I, but I was never told WHY.  We were simply told that the body is made of 55-75% water and we need to replenish it with about 8 cups a day to help our bodies function.  Good to know, but not as good as "water keeps your fat burners running, so you can stay thin", now THAT would have gotten my attention!

Not that water isn't essential for lots of other things in the body.  It is, obviously.  So, I have been trying the past month or so to really drink more water.  I figured if nothing else, it will keep me from feeling "loagy".  And when I started trying fruit infused waters and I started feeling amazing right away, I knew that it was something that needed to be a long term change.  So, I am collecting water bottles to remind myself that I need to drink more water.  I am especially loving the fruit infuser bottles, like this fruit infuser bottle from Trim Evolution.
Truth be told, I actually don't care for the taste of fruit infused water.  I find it mediocre and although I love the aftertaste sensation, the water itself tastes like... water.  But I felt so incredible after those two days of drinking it, that I can look past mediocrosy.  So here I am, with my new Trim Evolution bottle, tackling that life long habit of dehydrating myself.  So far this month, I've lost 4 lbs and I hope to continue to lose.  In case you missed my last post, here's a little of what fruit infused water does for you:

Infused water does more than just taste good
Many fruits, vegetables and herbs have natural diuretic, cleansing attributes. In addition to keeping your body hydrated, these types of infusion recipes will stimulate your body to flush harmful toxins from your body. Your body begins working more efficiently, weight loss accelerates, and you begin to feel good all over.
As far as the bottle itself, it's awesome.  The features that I love best are the removable fruit cage, the not-too-big and not-too-small mouth, the loop on the cap, and the size.  This bottle is 24 oz, larger than most water bottles.  You would only need to drink about 3 of these each day, it puts things into a nice perspective.  It makes me feel like I can actually do it.
It's also shatterproof, which I can attest to.  My last one was dropped I don;t know how many times before it finally bit the dust, but it did so with one crack, no pieces on the floor or sharp edges to cut yourself on, just a crack.  I was really impressed.  I'm impressed with the whole thing.  Such a simple little thing for such a big life change!
Here's a recipe for fruit infused water that sounds delicious, from A Harmony Healing:

Ingredients:
1 cup organic blueberries
1 cup organic blackberries
2 doughnut peaches, pitted and cut into half-inch wedges
6 cups spring or filtered water
2 cups unsweetened organic coconut water
1 gallon clean glass jar with lid
Directions:
1. Place blueberries and blackberries into the bottom of your jar, then the peach slices on top.
2. Pour the spring water and coconut water into the jar. Stir the water, cover with a lid and put water into the refrigerator for at least one hour or overnight for the best flavor. Drink within two days.
Makes 64 ounces

Well, I hope you are drinking enough water.  But if you aren't, it's never too late to start :)

Purifyou #GlassWaterBottle with Silicone Sleeve #Review

I am on a mission.  A mission of hydration.  I drink so little water, it's ridiculous.  I drink mostly just coffee, but I'm lactose intolerant, so that's not really wise.  I've decided that I'm finally over being sick and I should just stick with water for the most part.  I also find that water gives me far more energy than coffee anyways.
One of the ways I plan to accomplish this is by getting myself excited with new ways to make it happen.  At first I had the fruit infuser bottle (which sadly just had one too many falls and cracked), and now I have a super portable glass water bottle with silicone sleeve by Purifyou.  It's in a nice pastel green color.
The bottle is a little smaller than I envisioned when looking at pictures of it online.  It's about as big as a 16.9 fl. oz. spring water bottle, as you can see.  But is said to hold 12 oz, likely because the glass is thicker than the plastic, so it holds less.  So in case you are one of those people like me who don't read descriptions as well as you should, it's that big.  Which is a good size, I suppose.  It means you would need to fill it about five times to get your daily water intake.  I go through about two right now, which is a substantial uptake from a week ago.
The cover has a really nice feature that I think everything on the face of Earth should have... a handle.  And not just any handle, but a handle with no open ends.  So you can put a carbiner on it and hang it to your jogging stroller or baby bag.  For those without such things (I'm sure that you exist somewhere), you could hang it from your backpack or something else.  It's fantastic.  It also helps when screwing the cover back on.  You can do it with one finger.
It's small enough to fit into a cup holder or mesh side pocket and the mouth of the bottle is just between large and small, so it's bound to make most everyone happy.  I think it's the perfect sized mouth.  It also comes in a nice little array of colors so you can match them to your outfit.  These are the colors you can get: Pastel Green, Pastel Gray, Baby Blue, Lavender, and Misty Rose.  I went with green because it reminds me of being green, being good to the earth, and being good to my body.  It's a very healthy, eco-type color.
The glass that it's made from is borosilicate glass material, which is the most heat resistant glass commonly used.  It also has the colorful silicone sleeve to prevent cracks and such when it drops (obviously needed in this house).  The whole bottle is also
BPA-free, Phthalate-free, PVC-free, lead-free, cadmium-free and 100% leak proof.  Because it's made of
borosilicate glass, it's also microwave, dishwasher, and freezer safe.
A little note, definitely worth mentioning is that a portion of the profits from each bottle purchase is sent directly to building water wells for impoverished communities in Africa.  That's stinking awesome!  That kind of thing always makes me feel good.
I'm definitely pretty happy with the water bottle.  In a perfect world, I think I'd like it to be bigger.  But 12 oz. is a good size, so I'm not complaining.  I love the color, the look, and the versatility.  I love that my ice cubes fit in it without cramming them in.  I just love it all around and I would recommend it.
How much water do you drink in an average day?
