Now that I have a boy, I find that there are all kind of things that I missed out on when it was just girls. For instance, he is so sweet, none of my girls were so sweet. He loved balls, cars, and dirt right off the bat, like it was ingrained in him. He had no real interest in nursing, so as much as I wanted that for him, I was able to get back to myself sooner. And then there's the hair cuts. The girls get one maybe once a year. Boog... he gets one every few months.
His last hair cut was a Mohawk. Now that it's growing out, he's got a nice little hair cut that's perfect for spiking. He looks off in that photo, he REALLY wasn't feeling the camera. But anyhow, every now and then I like to spike it up. I especially liked to before when his hair was just growing out. He looked so cute back then. But now he looks more grown up when I do it.
This last time, we tried a new gel. It's called Rhino Fuerte Premium Hair Styling Gel. It has vitamins, Proteins, and Aloe Vera so that it won't dry your hair out. I can attest to this. I used it to tame fly-aways. It worked perfect for that, my hair looked so nice all day long. What I love most about it is that when it's in, it isn't hard like a lot of gels, it's soft, smooth, and in place.
The gel is geared toward men, I say that because it has this amazing manly scent to it. It reminds me of that blue Old Spice speed stick. And when it's in the hair, it smells so wonderful. But I will say that I don't think it's such a sexy scent that boys shouldn't wear it. It's more equivalent to fruity scents for girls, you know?
So we tested it on Boog and gave him some spikes for the night. In hindsight, I probably should have made more smaller spikes instead of fewer large ones. But I think that only goes to show how well the gel worked. It held his hair straight up and didn't take forever to do, it was a quick 10 second thing.
I will say that the hold didn't seem to last overly long, but then he does have quite long hair, so maybe it's because of that. Maybe also it;s because I didn't have any on the inside, so the inside was all soft. Regardless, this gel is far better than many other gels that I have used that didn't hold it straight up to begin with. I definitely recommend it to anyone, for home or as a gift. It would make an awesome stuffer.
I wanna know what you think? Do you ever use gel? Is it a good one? Does it have a scent?
